Murphy
is part triathlon's pioneer generation. In the early years,
Murphy was active in all aspects of the sport: He raced
triathlons and other multi-sport events beginning in the mid
1970s; He produced his first triathlon in 1980. He has raced
or attended Ironman Hawaii every year since 1982. He was the
first Executive Director of the organization that is now USA
Triathlon, the sport’s national governing body. He created
the race format that is now the Olympic format (Nike Horny
Toad Triathlon). He was the race director for the first-ever
US Triathlon Series Race. He wrote the sport’s first-ever
drafting rule. And, he race directed the sport’s first-ever
race with a prize purse (Horny Toad Invitational).
In 1985, Murphy resigned
his law practice and established the business that is now
PCH Sports. He worked on the development and launch of the
highly successful IronKids Series. He took on Paula
Newby-Fraser as a client in 1987, launching the most
successful athlete representation business in the history of
the sport. PCH Sports represented athletes have won 44
Ironman and triathlon World Championships, and World &
Olympic championships in mountain biking, snowboarding,
beach volleyball, and adventure races.
Murphy's endurance event
production experience goes back to the 1970's. His recent
events include the Laguna Phuket Triathlon in Thailand,
Outdoor Quest, National Geographic Action Asia Challenge
Series, Ironman Korea, and Ironman China. Murphy has a B.A.
from the University of Wisconsin (cum laude 1975), a J.D.
from the University of San Diego School of Law (cum laude
1978), and a lifetime of experience in sports. He started
swimming competitively at age seven and was successful at
all levels of that sport including a top-15 World Ranking
and All-American awards. |

Shannon
Delaney, a former pro triathlete and NCAA swimmer, also has
a lifetime of endurance sport experience. While she has
years of experience in athlete and event management, her
specialty is custom & team apparel. Fluent in Spanish from
working in Chile for three years, Shannon has long-time
relationships with sublimation houses and manufacturers in
North and South America. Accessing these relationships
Shannon creates custom apparel for individuals, clubs and
non-profits such as Simon Lessing, Cleveland Triathlon Club
and Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Shannon is a graduate of University of
San Diego California. While she runs the Catalina Marathon
each year and has future plans to race Ironman Kona again,
her sports passion is paddleboard and outrigger racing. She
has done most of the major channel crossings including
Catalina and Molokai. |

Wendy
Ingraham’s 20-year triathlon career resulted in 8 Ironman
wins and 38 top-ten Ironman finishes in 44 races. Wendy was
NCAA All-American swimmer and a former PCH Sports’ client.
While Wendy
never won in Kona, the combination of her personality and
performance made her one of the sport’s best-known athletes.
Wendy also knows sponsorship from both sides: As an athlete
she successfully cultivated many long-term sponsor
relationships, including 14 years with her primary sponsor;
In the business world she was TYR’s Multisport Manager from
2003-2006 with responsibilities for national sales, product
design, athlete promotion, and sponsorship.
Wendy is a
graduate of Michigan State University. She is a supporter of
such causes as CAF and TriMasters, a Chicago inter-city kids
program. She is married with a baby daughter (Skylar). She
remains active in triathlon and adventure racing. |
