Mirinda Carfrae is the World Champion. She is a dominate force in every race she enters with seemingly effortless finesse and consistent podium finishes in any distance. At the Ironman World Championships in 2010 Rinny gave us a glimpse of what is to come for the next decade. She broke her 2009 run record with a 2:53.32, broke 9 hours and gave us one of the most memorable performances in Ironman history all while posting the fourth-fastest time in the 32-year history of the event. In 2011, she placed 2nd to Chrissie Wellington with an amazing duel that delivered another Ironman run record for Rinny iwith a 2:52.09. Some wonder what might have happened has the race been one mile longer! Rinny is small, compact and a fierce competitor. She loves sport. She hates to lose. She is thankful for a sport that favors her size having left her first love, basketball to the world of triathlon. Rinny loves the travel , camaraderie and friendships experienced along the way and is always up for sharing a smile, photo op or story along the way. The question now is not when she will win in Hawaii but how many times will she win in Kona.
